Pirates is a World of Warcraft guild founded in December 2015 by a group of nerds dedicated to tackling the highest difficulty raid content. Pirates succeeded at putting together a mythic progression team late in Draenor and pushed so hard into Hellfire Citadel that Archimonde begged for nerfs. The original core is carrying over that Herculean strength to lead a pair of progression teams in Legion.

We are looking for skilled players capable of mastering rotations while laughing at mechanics for being too easy. We will continue progressing and recruiting towards the goal of farming mythic raids until every demon is dead – the only good demon is a dead one. If you are prepared, join us in the fight against the Legion!
We take raiding seriously but we have a relaxed atmosphere in which you can crack terrible jokes. We won't tolerate toxic, elitist attitudes.
Note that times will be cut down once the raids are on farm.
Buccaneers (29/29M Pre-Antorus, 11/11M Antorus): Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 7:15 PM to 10:30 PM Eastern
Corsairs (29/29M Pre-Antorus, 11/11M Antorus): Friday and Saturday from 7:45 PM to 12:00 AM Eastern
Current needs are posted in the recruitment section. While we do have preferred specs, we will consider any strong applicants.
Team Oriented – Think about others in your decisions. This applies to attitude which means that you should get along with teammates and not cause drama. Also to mechanics as in not ignoring them to pad meters at the expense of the team. Perhaps most importantly, don't be selfish when it comes to gear. We use a loot council system to distribute gear for the overall benefit of the team, meaning that who receives key drops such as trinkets and tier pieces is based on variables including performance, attendance and need. Finally, try to help out teammates outside of raids as well.
Strong Mechanics – Understand your role mechanics before facing a boss and be good enough to execute them successfully most of the time. We do not expect perfection but repeating mistakes often is an issue.
Maximization – Try to reach your maximum performance potential by choosing the top performing talents per fight, using consumables (such as flasks, potions, food and runes), applying enchants, and stuffing gems in sockets. We have role experts that will help you to improve through coaching and log analysis. Consumables and item enhancements are provided for FREE to raiders.
Attendance – Be prepared and show up on time. An attendance of at least 90% is required, although exceptions will be made due to extenuating circumstances. Being down a single player affects the whole team during mythic progression. Please try to notify us in advance if you cannot attend a raid.
Construction Criticism – We sift through logs to pinpoint mistakes and provide feedback on how to prevent them from reoccurring. However, even the leadership makes mistakes in callouts so try to be analytical and rational rather than emotional while being criticized. We only try to figure out what went wrong to help the team not repeat mistakes. We do not try to put down our teammates and damage morale. If screaming at teammates helped them to improve, we would find a drill sergeant to be our raid leader.
Voice Communication – All members are required to be on the Discord server during raids. We know you have a mic so don't be shy about talking to a bunch of geeks.
